This two-side fence woven with ribbon was inspired
by an Octavio Paz Poem called,
"Between Going and Staying the Day Wavers".

It speaks of the fragile place between the past and how
it informs the present and the hope of what can be in the future.

The Tree of Hope was inspired by the practice in different cultures of tying or hanging fabric and ribbon on trees as an offering or a prayer. This altar was an offering of Hope to the dead; to cast a “light of the heart for the shadow of the soul.”
